God
created you in His image. You are a trinity; spirit, soul, and body; three that
are one. Sin fractured and destroyed the union, not only with God, but also
with yourself and everyone around you. Through faith in Christ, you are born from
above, given new life in Christ and with Christ, “…the old has passed away,
behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 You are born again,
from above, with a new heart, in Christ.
Your new
life in Christ is the new creation in the midst of the old, literally, in the
midst of your old mind and body. And your mind is being transformed by the
renewing of your mind; you are being redeemed. Hallelujah! Romans 12:1 – 2. And
you live in hope of the resurrection and a new body, which is“…reserved in heaven for you who
are kept by the power of God, through faith, for a salvation ready to be
revealed in the last day.” 1 Peter 1:5
The
process of salvation that you are now experiencing is the process of being made
whole, of union, from the inside out. Communion is the dominant desire of your
new life and identity in Christ. Together, in Christ and with Christ, fellowship
with the Father is your constant experience and joy. Communion is not only your
dominant desire, it is at the same time your constant and fulfilling
contentment. The desires that God has given you, He fulfills, according to His
word.
Your
spirit desires communion and growth. Your soul (mind, will, and emotions)
desires knowledge and peace. Your body desires food and growth (to be fruitful
and to multiply). God’s word gives clear instruction and direction for these
God-given desires. Receiving and trusting His instructions and direction
results in contentment and joy, the union of desire and contentment with Him.
This is what it means to seek the Lord, to desire Him and the fulfillment
(contentment from union) that only He gives.
True
worship is driven these God-given desires, the hunger for communion and the indescribable joy
of contentment that is only found in Christ, with Christ, through faith in Him.
Today,
ask God for a stronger and stronger desire and hunger for Him. This is the will
of the Father. Feed upon His word and be satisfied in Christ. Your servant-thoughts
earnestly desire to teach you and to be fruitful and multiply.
Tomorrow
we will see the offer of the enemy to kill, steal, and destroy your God-given
desires.
