A Prayer Shaped By Psalm 105 and Bible Readings of the Day

We sing praises to your name, O Lord God Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. You are faithful and always do what you have said. We thank you God, for your gracious and powerful activity in our lives through your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Father, you have given us the Holy Spirit to guide us, to teach us, to provide everything we need, even more than we need, so that we can tell others of your love and share with others from the abundance of what you have given to us.
The greatest gift you have given in the forgiveness of all of our sins, through Jesus Christ. We have a huge reservoir of forgiveness to give to those who have mistreated us, slandered us, and even persecuted us. We have done much worse to you and yet you have poured out eternal love and forgiveness through the blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you, God.
Holy Spirit, reveal the lies that we have believed and tear down the stronghold of pride that raises its ugly head and craves the attention and accolades of others. We desire to be joyfully obedient to you in everything, and only you can make that happen in us, with us, and through us, for your glory. Make it happen, Lord.
Strengthen us to overrule our physical appetites when they start dictating knee-jerk reactions to our sin-invested world. Keep us focused upon your powerful promises and the unseen things of the Spirit. Satisfy us with yourself, Lord Jesus. We do not want to end up like Esau who traded his birthright to satisfy his growling stomach.

Your Kingdom, O God, is everlasting. Thank you for calling us to Christ and giving us faith in Him. Everything else in our world is shaking, but not your Kingdom! Everything else will crumble and be reduced to ashes, but not your Kingdom! May your Kingdom come today as the gospel is shared, preached, taught, and demonstrated around the world. Be glorified today, King Jesus. We praise and lift you high and offer this prayer in your name. AMEN.
