A Prayer Shaped From Psalm 112 and Other Bible Readings For the Day

Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored today as holy throughout our world. May the nations come to know that you and you alone are the living God; holy and righteous, all-powerful and good, faithful and true forever. Hallelujah.
Thank you, Father, for the people called by your name throughout our world who call upon you, are blessed by you, and are blessing those around them today. Let their witness of you been seen and heard for the testimony that it is; of you and your grace given fully in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Lord Jesus, we who are called by your name are your body on earth. We have been chosen by you and for you. We are not of this world but live in it as witnesses. We have been scattered all across this world as a sower scatters seeds, to be planted, to grow, and to bear fruit.
You have promised, Lord, that if we abide in you and your word abides in us, we will bear much fruit, fruit that will remain, fruit that will glorify our Father. Holy Spirit, keep us in Christ and his word in us today. Do in us according to your promise, we pray.
Holy Spirit, we love you and praise you. Move upon your servants and give us wisdom. Open our eyes to see our need for your word to surround us like the wall of Jerusalem in days of old. Reveal to us the necessity of rebuilding the gates so that we will have good judgment as to what to let in our minds and what to keep out. Keep us pure today.

We pray for those who are sick, who are grieving, and who are struggling with discouragement. Be their healing, their strength, their hope today; we pray in the name above every name, in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord. AMEN.
